Terms of Service
The agreement between you and iMarket Uganda when you shop or sell on our marketplace.
Last updated 23 September 2026iMarket Uganda is an online marketplace that connects shoppers with independent Ugandan vendors. These terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. By creating an account, placing an order, or listing products, you agree to them.
01 Who we are
iMarket Uganda is a marketplace operated from Plot 12, Kampala Road, Kampala. We provide the platform, payment handling, and support. We do not manufacture or own the products listed - those belong to the vendors who sell them.
02 Your account
You need an account to track orders from one place, save items, or sell. You can also check out as a guest.
- Give accurate details - we use your phone number and address to deliver your order.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be 18 or older, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
03 Placing an order
Adding items to your cart is not a purchase. A sale is confirmed once you complete checkout and we accept your order.
- Prices are shown in Ugandan Shillings and include the delivery fee you select at checkout.
- The total shown at checkout is the total you pay - we do not add charges afterwards.
- If a product is mispriced or out of stock after you order, we will contact you and refund you in full.
- We may decline or cancel an order where we suspect fraud or abuse.
04 Payment
We accept MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, and cash on delivery where available.
- Mobile money payments are confirmed by a prompt sent to the phone number you provide. Your order is not paid until you approve it.
- Cash on delivery is payable in full to the delivery agent when your order arrives.
- Payments are processed by our licensed payment partners. We never store your mobile money PIN or card details.
05 Delivery
Delivery times depend on the option you choose and where you are. Boda delivery covers Kampala within hours, courier delivery reaches the rest of Uganda in a few business days, and pickup lets you collect from the vendor.
- Someone must be reachable on the phone number given to receive the order.
- Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees - weather, traffic, and location affect them.
- If delivery fails because the details given were wrong or nobody was reachable, a repeat delivery may be charged.
06 Returns and refunds
You can cancel an order at no cost before it is dispatched. After that our Return Policy applies: most items can be returned within 7 days if unused and in their original packaging, while perishable and made-to-order goods cannot.
- Refunds are paid back to the mobile money number used for the order.
- Refunds are processed within 7 working days of an approved return.
- If an item arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, contact us and we will put it right.
07 Selling on iMarket
Vendors are independent businesses, not employees or agents of iMarket. If you sell here, these additional terms apply.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings, the quality of your goods, and holding any licence your trade requires.
- iMarket retains a commission or flat fee on sales, as agreed in your vendor plan. Payouts go to your registered mobile money account.
- Orders must be fulfilled within the timeframe stated on your listing. Repeated failures may lead to suspension.
- We may remove listings or suspend a store that breaches these terms or draws sustained complaints.
08 What you may not do
- List or order counterfeit, stolen, or illegal goods, including items restricted under Ugandan law.
- Place fake orders, manipulate ratings, or post misleading reviews.
- Interfere with the platform, other accounts, or our security.
- Use the platform to harass anyone, including vendors, customers, and delivery agents.
09 Our role and limits
Because iMarket is a marketplace, the contract of sale is between you and the vendor. We are responsible for running the platform and handling payments properly, and we help resolve disputes, but we are not liable for a vendor's goods beyond what Ugandan consumer law requires. We also cannot guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the marketplace develops. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Significant changes will be announced on the site, and continuing to use iMarket means you accept the updated terms.
11 Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Questions, complaints, or disputes can be raised with our support team first - most issues are resolved that way.
